A Legacy Rooted in the Heart of Sablet
Nestled at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail and Mont Ventoux lies the historic Boissan Estate, a vineyard with stories as rich as the wines it produces. This cherished estate is one of the oldest in the region, carrying a legacy of winemaking that dates back generations.
Christian and Cathy Bonfils, both born into winemaking families, have dedicated their lives to nurturing this land. Together, they honor their heritage while embracing the future with a deep respect for the terroir. The roots of the estate stretch back to the 19th century when the first cellar was built. Over the years, it expanded—first in 1898, then again in 1934. By 1985, a new winemaking and storage cellar was introduced, and in the early 2000s, modern aging cellars were created to elevate the estate’s craft even further.
From the bold reds of Gigondas to the delicate rosés and whites of Ventoux, the wines of Domaine Boissan reflect the soul of Provence—each bottle a tribute to the land and the generations who have cared for it.
The story of Boissan doesn’t end with Christian and Cathy. Their children, Alexandre, Clémence, and Victor, are already deeply involved in the family business. Alexandre works among the vines, Clémence manages the office, and Victor crafts the wines in the cellar. This new generation brings passion and fresh energy, ensuring the family tradition continues to flourish for years to come.
At Domaine de Boissan, every glass tells a story—a tale of heritage, dedication, and the timeless beauty of Provence.
The vineyards span 50 hectares across an array of celebrated appellations: Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Sablet, Séguret, and Villedieu. Each terroir contributes its own character, offering a spectrum of flavors that make the wines of Domaine Boissan truly unique. This geographical diversity also allows for staggered harvests, ensuring that every grape is picked at its peak.
